A photocell is an essential component in WAC landscape lighting power supplies, enabling users to automatically supply power during the evening when there is an absence of UV sunlight. The photocell conveniently plugs into the exterior of the WAC landscape lighting magnetic power supply case, providing voltage to the unit in the absence of sunlight while blocking voltage during the day.

When the power supply is installed in an area that does not receive direct sunlight, the use of a remote photocell (SKU # 9000-PCR-GY) with a 10ft cable is recommended. This remote photocell sensor can be installed up to 10ft away from the power supply, ensuring optimal placement for detecting the transition from daylight to darkness.

Photocell sensors are available in two convenient options: plug-in (SKU # 9000-PCH-GY) and remote (SKU # 9000-PCR-GY). The plug-in photocell connects directly to the power supply, while the remote option allows for more flexible placement when the power supply is installed in a location without direct sunlight exposure.
